Welcome to Anglian Water Country.

Find a job

Water is life.

For us, it’s also work. Work that challenges, excites and rewards us.

We manage, supply and recycle water for the driest region in the UK. So we love every drop. We love the opportunities that come with it. Because we are redefining what a utility company can be. From delivering the highest standards of customer service to transforming the way water is valued by everyone, we work at the frontier to innovate and improve every day. Discover your part of Anglian Water country today.

We are recruiting 200 people across the region to continue our environmental commitment.

To build on our industry leading position tackling leakage, we are expanding our workforce.

We and our Alliance Partners are on the hunt for candidates to fill 200 roles across the region, with positions being advertised over the next two months. Various levels of role will be advertised, including assistant technicians, leakage technicians, as well as a number of engineering roles. Some roles do not require any previous experience.

Our focus and innovative approach at tackling leakage has made us an industry leader. Since privatisation we have reduced leaks by 38% – despite putting a third more water into our network to meet the needs of a growing population. Last year our leakage and repair teams helped save enough water to fill 10 Olympic swimming pools every day.

Our Head of Leakage, Sean McCarthy said:

“We’re already one of the leading employers in the region and we’re pleased we can create new jobs after such a difficult 12 months, living through the COVID pandemic. We’re looking for people who want to join our team of dedicated staff and help us tackle one of our biggest challenges as a business.

“We hate leaks as much as our customers do and have been leading the water industry on driving down leakage, with half as many leaks on average, as any other water company in the UK. Between 2020-2025, we’ll be investing £77m in reducing leakage, with the aim of reaching world leading low levels.”

In 2017, we became the first water company to use thermal imaging drones to pinpoint hard to find leaks. Since then we have continued to push the boundaries of technology to wage a war on leakage, by using satellite imagery, naval hydrophones, and fibre optic technology to find and fix leaks.

In 2018 we were named Best Place to Work in Glassdoor’s Employees’ Choice Award. Earlier this year we were named ‘Employer of the Year in the Utility Week Awards.
