The Binnies brand returned to the UK in 2021 after the RSK Group purchased the UK and Asia business of Black & Veatch, previously a reserve partner in the Alliance, and brought back the historic Binnies name.
As part of RSK Group, Binnies provides solutions to complex challenges in the water industry using its award-winning integrated planning and design approach to deliver functional infrastructure and lasting environmental and social legacies.
Binnies helps clients create a line of sight between strategic decision-making and the data necessary to make those decisions, leveraging data-driven decisions at every point of the asset life-cycle.
With over 100 years of heritage, Binnies helps clients across the globe efficiently and effectively collect, store, move and treat water and wastewater, plan and manage watersheds and harness the energy embedded in the treatment and movement of water.
Binnies rejoined the Alliance, this time as a full-time partner from April 2024, ready for the start of the latest Asset Management Period (AMP8), which runs from 2025-2030.
The primary driver for Binnies is to support the @one Alliance as we deliver our largest ever portfolio of work, with over £3bn worth of work planned till 2030 across our Water, Water Recycling and Place Based Thinking portfolios.
With the @one Alliance workload about to double from £1.2bn in AMP7 (2020-2025) Binnies rejoined the Alliance as a partner with deep sector experience and a commitment to innovation and sustainability.
Binnies are specialists in water infrastructure and nature-based solutions, which will help the Alliance deliver a range of completely new projects over the next five years.
Scott Aitken, Binnies Managing Director signing the AMP8 contract
“Joining the @one Alliance is an exciting milestone for Binnies and for me personally. Over the next five years, we have the unique opportunity to shape the future of water management alongside Anglian Water by delivering an unprecedented AMP8 programme. I’m particularly looking forward to leveraging both our proven engineering expertise and nature-based solutions capabilities. Collaboration within an industry-leading Alliance will not only allow us to deliver vital infrastructure but also push the boundaries of innovation, sustainability and career growth for our teams.”– Timothy O’Brien, Major Projects Director, Binnies.
For Binnies, their job is all about creating a positive influence, driven by their aspiration for growth and excellence. The company focuses on becoming a world leader in delivering innovative and sustainable solutions across the water and environmental sectors.
By collaborating with their clients and partners, they can empower their staff to deliver safer, smarter and more sustainable solutions to improve the lives of every person in our communities – all while supporting the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals as part of the RSK group’s wider objectives.
Binnies believes its culture of engineering excellence in preserving and enhancing the environment is what will help them succeed against the backdrop of a demanding and challenging world.
Since joining the Alliance as a full–time partner in 2024, Binnies have been hard at work integrating into the ‘one team’ culture of the Alliance and are already starting to demonstrate the positive addition they bring to the Alliance through the delivery of our first AMP8 nature-based Wetland at our site in Everton.
