As a Digital & Technology Solutions Apprentice, you’ll be part of a team that’s shaping the future, using digital tools and systems to deliver smarter, more sustainable solutions for our customers and the environment. 

 

You’ll gain hands-on experience across areas like software development, cyber security, data analysis, and IT infrastructure, all while contributing to real projects that make a meaningful impact in a digitally evolving business. 

 

What you’ll be doing 

Supporting projects in software engineering, IT consultancy, or cyber security. 

Analysing data and systems to improve performance and reliability. 

Developing applications and driving digital innovation across the business.

Your learning journey 

Bachelor’s Degree from Aston University plus apprenticeship qualification. 

4½ year programme combining academic study and practical experience.

What you’ll need to get started 

3 A Levels or equivalent Level 3 qualification (including one STEM subject) or BTEC Extended Diploma grade MMM.

Data Science Degree Apprentice (Level 6)

Are you driven by data and eager to solve complex challenges? As a Data Science Apprentice, you’ll use advanced tools and techniques to uncover insights that help us protect water resources, improve customer service, and enhance environmental outcomes. 

 

This is a role where curiosity meets technical skill, applying statistics, programming, and machine learning to make a real impact. 

 

What you’ll be doing 

Analysing and modelling data to support smarter decision-making. 

Designing algorithms and applying predictive analytics to real-world challenges. 

Translating data into stories that drive business and environmental improvements. 

This role is ideal for someone who 

Has an inquisitive mindset and a passion for data. 

Enjoys problem-solving and thinking creatively. 

Is self-motivated, analytical, and a strong communicator. 

 

Your learning journey 

Earn a BSc (Hons) in Data Science and a Level 6 Data Scientist apprenticeship standard. 

3½ year programme combining academic study and practical experience. 

Delivered in partnership with a university provider

What you’ll need to get started 

BBB–BBC at A-Level, including a B in Maths, or 

Level 4 Data Analyst Apprenticeship at Distinction or Merit 

Quantity Surveying Degree Apprenticeship (Level 6)

Are you interested in shaping sustainable infrastructure and making smart investment decisions? As a Quantity Surveying Apprentice, you’ll work with commercial teams to manage costs, contracts, and ensure value for money across our projects, helping us deliver essential water services efficiently and responsibly. 

 

What you’ll be doing 

Estimating costs and providing commercial assurance across infrastructure projects. 

Managing contracts and ensuring compliance with industry standards. 

Supporting financial reporting and stakeholder collaboration using data and systems. 

 

This role is ideal for someone who 

Has strong commercial awareness and an analytical mindset. 

Is detail-focused, organised, and adaptable to change. 

Communicates clearly and is committed to learning and professional growth. 

 

Your learning journey 

Earn a BSc (Hons) in Quantity Surveying over a 5-year apprenticeship. 

Delivered in partnership with a college provider (Provider – TBC). 

Combines academic study with real-world experience on live projects.

What you’ll need to get started 

5 GCSEs including Maths & English at grades A–C or 9–4* (Functional Skills and O Levels also accepted). 

At least 112 UCAS Tariff points from A Levels, BTEC National Diploma, or equivalent Level 3 qualifications.

Our degree apprenticeships start September 2026.

This starts with a structured induction, with all the support you need to be successful.

By the end of your apprenticeship, you’ll have gained a nationally recognised degree and, more importantly, the skills and experience to thrive in your chosen field.

Subject to performance and behavioural reviews, you’ll move into a guaranteed full-time role within your area of expertise. It’s the next step in a long-term career with us, where you’ll continue to grow, develop, and make a real difference.

All tuition fees are paid for by Anglian Water, meaning you will be earning a full-time wage, whilst earning a degree debt free!

While attending college, apprentices are supported by a dedicated college tutor. When not at college, support continues on site through a direct mentor within the team, alongside regular check-ins every 12 weeks with an Early Careers Partner. Apprentices also benefit from ongoing guidance from their line manager, senior team members, and the wider apprenticeship community, creating a collaborative and inclusive environment. In addition to this, apprentices have access to a range of wellbeing resources, including our Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) and other wider support services.
