As a Water Supply Apprentice, you’ll help make sure the water we supply is clean and safe. You’ll learn how to run and look after the equipment and systems that treat our clean water so that it’s safe to drink. You’ll visit different sites; checking how things are running, spotting and fixing problems, and making sure everything is working as efficiently as possible. You’ll also learn how to carry out important processes like maintenance, testing, and optimisation, all while following our safety and quality procedures.
You’ll get to understand how your role contributes to the wider water network and our customers, and you’ll play a part in making sure everything runs smoothly with as little disruption as possible.

As a Treatment Apprentice, you will train to become a fully qualified Works Technician Process Controller within our Water Recycling team.
You’ll be responsible for ensuring our Water Recycling Treatment processes and systems are serviced and maintained so that they run effectively and efficiently to meet our regulatory standards. This could be maintaining sewerage systems, including associated control systems, maintaining sewer pumping stations and associated equipment, monitoring and maintaining wastewater treatment processes including screening, grit removal, settlement, biological treatment and sludge treatment and much more!

This Apprenticeship would suit someone who isn’t fazed by the smells of sewage! We are looking for somebody that is interested in science, especially the wastewater treatment process. We are looking for someone with an inquisitive mindset, who will be interested in the biological processes of the natural world and is committed to protecting the environment.
As a Maintenance Technician Apprentice, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing electrical equipment at our Water Recycling sites to ensure they remain operational, so that we can clean and recycle wastewater properly before it’s returned back to our environment. There are many components necessary to operate the water recycling system which must be carefully maintained, such as wet wells, pipes, valves, storage tanks and pumps!

This Apprenticeship would suit someone who is practical and interested in mechanical and electrical processes. We are looking for somebody who is a problem solver and would enjoy utilising IT systems to report and diagnose complex faults on our Water Recycling assets. You’ll be working on our Water Recycling side of the business so not afraid to work with sewage! This is a 4-year programme, so we are looking for someone who is hard working, keen to learn and self-motivated.
As an Asset Technician Apprentice, you’ll be part of the team that keeps our clean water treatment sites running smoothly. You’ll be responsible for maintaining and repairing electrical equipment at our Clean Water sites to ensure they remain operational, so that we can deliver clean, safe water to millions of people. You’ll get hands-on experience working with pumps, motors, valves, and control systems, responding to breakdowns, carrying out routine maintenance, and using digital tools to monitor performance and suggest improvements. You’ll also be involved in tasks like checking chemical dosing equipment, adjusting treatment processes, and using automation systems to keep everything running efficiently.

As a Bioresources Maintenance Apprentice, you’ll play a key role in maintaining and optimising our Water Recycling Sludge Treatment Centres (STCs). You’ll work towards your Level 3 Maintenance Operations Engineering Technician (Electromechanical) qualification, gaining hands-on experience with mechanical and electrical systems that support critical water recycling processes.

As an Operational Technology (OT) Field Engineer Apprentice, you’ll train to become a multi-skilled engineer, working on the repair, maintenance, and installation of the remote monitoring, automation equipment, and networks that keep our water and water recycling services running smoothly. Once qualified, you’ll step into the role of an Operational Technology Field Engineer, responsible for the day-to-day maintenance and repair of Anglian Water’s OT systems, including telemetry, automation equipment, and network infrastructure.
You’ll use your training to diagnose complex faults, recommend cost-effective solutions, and help ensure our assets are performing at their best. You’ll also play a key role in monitoring system performance using OT and IT tools, identifying opportunities for improvement, and supporting our commitment to innovation, efficiency, and compliance.
